Over 1,700 water and heating facilities upgraded under a national project
Since 2025, more than 1,700 water supply, heating and sewerage facilities have been built or upgraded under the federal Utility Infrastructure Modernization project.

Since 2025, more than 1,700 water supply, heating and sewerage facilities have been built, upgraded or overhauled under the federal Utility Infrastructure Modernization project, part of the national project Infrastructure for Life. Utility services have improved for more than 8.6 million people. Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin reported this on 17 September.
Technologies
The projects use polyethylene pipes, anti-corrosion coatings and automated control systems. The goal is to improve utility services for 20 million people by 2030.
Examples from the regions
- Perm Krai. The water supply system in the Vereshchagino district has been rebuilt: 6.8 km of new networks now serve more than 4,200 residents.
- Kirov. A new gas-fired boiler house with power, gas, water and heating networks has been commissioned and connected to apartment buildings.
- Saransk. A 6.7 km water main serving more than 90,000 people has been overhauled. Pressure polyethylene pipe was used, and the pipes were laid under roads and utilities by horizontal directional drilling, without open trenches.
- Tomsk. Heating main No. 11S was overhauled before the heating season, with hydraulic and pneumatic tests; about 5,200 residents will get reliable heat.
- Novosibirsk Region. In the settlement of Suzun, 16.3 km of water networks have been laid, improving services for more than 15,000 people.
