Kutuzovsky 32, busbar trunking in Building E

Building E of the business quarter on Kutuzovsky Prospekt is the former President Plaza business centre, one of the first buildings of the quarter to open. Our team is now installing busbar trunking in it: two 2,000 A lines inside the building and a 2,500 A line that comes in from the neighbouring Building V. The building stays in operation throughout.

Our scope

• Installation of 2,000 A and 2,500 A busbar trunking.
• Support brackets and hangers under the slabs.
• Fire-rated penetrations through walls and floors.
• Testing of the lines and as-built documentation.

Systems

How the work is going

1. Survey. We walked the routes of the future lines through the car park and plant rooms and checked them against the working documentation.
2. Supports. We are fixing the support brackets under the slabs, ready for sections weighing up to 100 kg.
3. Sections and joints. We lift and join the busbar sections and seal the penetrations through walls and floors with fire-rated kits.
4. Testing. Every line will be tested and handed over with the as-built documentation.

What makes the project special

• An operating building. In Building E we work at night and at weekends so as not to disrupt the offices.
• Heavy sections. Busbar sections weigh up to 100 kg and are installed overhead.
• IP68 protection. The sealed busbar is protected against dust and water.
• Fire safety. 16 fire-rated penetrations keep the building's fire barriers intact.

• Building E is the former President Plaza business centre, opened in 2017–2018.
• The business quarter brings together five buildings with a total area of about 585,000 m².
• Construction on the site began in 2006 under the Mirax Plaza project.
