By order No. 2850-r of 9 October 2026, the Russian government allocated more than RUB 1.2 billion from the federal budget for building two schools and a kindergarten in three regions. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the decision on 13 October at a meeting with deputy prime ministers.

Where the money goes

The funds are provided as co-financing of regional budgets:

  • Izhevsk, Udmurtia: the start of construction of a school for 1,100 pupils in a new neighbourhood;
  • Krasnoyarsk: reimbursement of the cost of a school for 1,280 pupils in the Michurinsky residential district;
  • Yekaterinburg: a kindergarten for 350 children, including nursery groups, in the Kirovsky district.

In total, that is 2,730 places for children.

What the prime minister said

According to Mikhail Mishustin, the state is building kindergartens, schools and infrastructure across the country so that every child, in a big city or a small town, has equal opportunities for a good education. He also noted the president's request to pay attention to nursery groups so that young mothers can return to work sooner. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko has been tasked with monitoring timely financing and compliance with deadlines.

Why it matters for MEP systems

A school or a kindergarten is accepted only together with working fire alarm, notification, ventilation and power systems. Educational buildings also visibly influence the fire automation market: according to RUБЕЖ Analytics, they accounted for 14.4% of its sales in 2024.
